Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal/Sr. Principal Computer Hardware Engineer for the F-35 Mission Systems team in Redondo Beach, CA.

The selected candidate will design, build, and maintain hardware racks and workstations used by F-35 software developers to deliver code and capabilities. The role includes configuring racks with HPE hardware, networking, and software tools, plus safe integration of systems in classified and unclassified environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree with 3 years; OR PhD with 1 year.
• Experience constructing and maintaining computer hardware racks and workstations for unclassified and classified environments.
• Experience with software loading and administration of racked systems.
• Experience with installation and configuration of network switches and firewalls.
• Working familiarity with Linux system administration.

Responsibilities

• Build rack mounted and workstation HPE systems per project specs.
• Design and maintain racks with switches, firewalls, tape libraries and peripherals for classified/unclassified environments.
• Design and implement safe networking strategies between enterprise and F35 project networks.
• Load and configure systems and developer workstations per requirements.
• Produce drawings of the F35 developer network.
• Investigate, install, and maintain other software products as needed.
