Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Specialist - Design Release Coordinator to manage TDP release activities for multiple programs. The role is onsite in Massachusetts (Andover, Marlboro, Tewksbury, Woburn) and Portsmouth, RI, coordinating with IPTLs, engineers, and CM to ensure on-time, compliant releases.

The incumbent will develop and maintain design release plans in DRM/RDT, track progress, and communicate status to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
  • U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Technical Data Package (TDP) release and change activity.
  • Develop, baseline and maintain the design release plan in DRM or RDT.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations on drawing release dates.
  • Maintain drawing outlook dates with Engineering.
  • Coordinate with IPTLs, engineers, and CM for configuration control and cPDM.
  • Monitor TDP status and progress daily across the release cycle.
  • Provide guidance to documentation owners on uploading/entering documents in cPDM.
  • Ensure overall documentation quality, schedule and status across customers.

The Hardware Design Integrity (HWDI) department enables program execution quality and on-time delivery by ensuring integrity, compliance, security and process efficiency of our technical data, designs and systems. HWDI is part of the Product Integrity center, alongside Configuration and Data Management (CMDM). The Hardware Design Integrity department is looking for an individual to perform the role of Principal Specialist - Design Release Coordinator. This position is on-site in one of the following locations: Andover, MA; Marlboro, MA; Portsmouth, RI; Tewksbury, MA; Woburn, MA. Candidate must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance.

What You Will Do
  • Coordinating the Technical Data Package (TDP) release and change activity for various programs and projects.
  • Develop, baseline and maintain the design release plan in Design Release Manager (DRM) or Rapid Development Tool (RDT).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain and Operations on Drawing Release need dates.
  • Maintain drawing outlook dates in collaboration with Engineering.
  • Work in unison with each program Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL), program engineering personnel (Hardware Engineers, drafting, Chief Engineers, etc.), Configuration Management for Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and Product Data Management (cPDM) coordination, Design Integrity Check, Computer-aided-design (CAD), etc.
  • Daily monitoring and reporting of TDP status and progress across the release cycle.
  • Provide general direction to documentation owners (IPTLs, engineers/drafters, etc.) on the processes required to upload/enter their documentation in cPDM correctly for efficient engineering/production release.
  • Oversight of the processes support will also include monitoring the overall documentation level quality, commonality, schedule, and timely status to all customers; driving end to end program delivery success across defined efforts.
  • Present data visually to convey priorities and needs to support program execution and leadership briefings.
Qualifications - Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) or related discipline
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • This position requires 5 or more years relevant similar professional work experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance (or the ability to obtain one) is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications - Prefer
  • Hardware design experience.
  • Knowledge of supplier material procurement and build practices.
  • General knowledge and understanding for following policies, procedures, and processes with a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience utilizing CAD tools such as CREO or equivalent.
  • PTC Windchill, Microsoft Office, Microsoft SharePoint, and/or Power BI experience.
  • Solid competency in project planning and management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with various engineering disciplines to ensure data integrity and compliance with configuration management policies.
