Job summary

CesiumAstro seeks a Principal Project Engineer to lead project engineering across all development phases for external customers and internal initiatives in the aerospace domain.

The role requires coordinating schedules, budgets, risks, and resource planning, presenting to leadership, and contributing to proposals. Strong communication and experience in space flight development are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
• 8 years of industry experience in a relevant engineering or project position.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Jira.
• Technical familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and software systems; systems of systems.
• Thorough understanding of aerospace systems engineering processes from concept to production, including space system life cycle.
• Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
• High energy and a get-it-done attitude.

Responsibilities

• Develop project schedules, budgets, and risks and report to program and company leadership.
• Coordinate activities across teams and raise issues at the program level to ensure proper resourcing.
• Drive complex programs to success and contribute to proposal-writing efforts.
• Present engineering design reviews and status reports to customers and executives.
