Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Huntsville, AL seeks a Principal Software Systems Test Engineer to lead system, integration, and automation testing for complex defense software products.

You will develop test plans, execute verification activities, analyze results, and collaborate with development, systems, and QA teams to resolve defects while ensuring traceability from requirements to test cases on the Tactical Ground Equipment BONES program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in STEM with required experience.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Strong test engineering principles (verification vs validation, coverage).
• Experience with test case design techniques (equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, use cases).
• Experience with test automation and at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Ability to read and interpret requirements, ICDs, and design specs.
• Familiarity with configuration management and version control (Git).
• Experience with API testing, UI testing, performance or security testing as needed.

Our Team supports, integrates, develops, and advances multiple software and network products under the the long standing Tactical Ground Equipment (TGE) Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) Base Operations Networks (BONES) program.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in STEM and minimum 5 years of experience, or Masters degree in STEM and 3 years of experience.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• Strong understanding of test engineering principles (verification vs validation, coverage, boundary conditions, negative testing).
• Experience with test case design techniques (equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, use cases, etc.).
• Experience with test automation and at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Ability to read and interpret requirements, interface control documents (ICDs), and design specs.
• Familiarity with configuration management and version control (e.g., Git).
• Experience with API testing, UI testing, performance or security testing as needed

Primary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
