Principal, Software Engineering: Software Development Test (SDET)

About the Role

We are seeking a Principal, Software Engineering: Software Development Test (SDET) to lead manual and automated integration testing within the Renaissance Integration and Testing team, focusing on program-level testing.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement integration test strategies for assigned products.
  • Design and execute test plans, including automation initiatives.
  • Lead testing and automation efforts collaboratively with team members.
  • Document and demonstrate test results to product teams and management.
  • Review release notes and create focused test plans for integration testing.
  • Collaborate with product teams to resolve issues post-release.
  • Manage issue tracking, categorization, and resolution processes.
  • Develop functional and non-functional testing plans.
  • Maintain issue tracking and retesting processes.
  • Guide team members on testing integrated systems.
  • Enhance automation capabilities for various testing types.
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritize requirements and testing for new features, including Risk Platform applications.
  • Manage Ovation system releases, assessing impact and communicating updates.
  • Support regression testing and system updates.
  • Provide support for Ovation systems, including issue resolution and user support.
  • Create and maintain reports for business needs.
  • Lead activities of implementation partners as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with colleagues and vendors.
  • Report on project status and key metrics.
  • Maintain documentation and process standards.
  • Assist with compliance and regulatory activities.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Strong background in testing and QA automation.
  • Technical expertise in relevant tools and programming languages.
  • Excellent communication and customer focus.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, confidential environment.
  • Experience with SDLC and software implementation.
  • Attention to detail and professionalism.
  • Experience within an Agile environment.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in automation tools like Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin.
  • Experience with API and high-volume data testing.
  • Skills in data testing, transformation, and programming languages such as Python and Java.
  • Knowledge of databases and SQL.
  • Experience with streaming systems, message queuing, and event sourcing tools.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • At least 7 years in manual and automation testing roles.
  • Minimum 5 years supporting integration testing in multiple functional areas.
  • At least 2 years in financial services or capital markets.
Additional Information

The position is full-time, based in Chicago, IL, with a salary range of $159,500 - $262,200, plus incentives. OCC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including remote work options, tuition reimbursement, and more.
