eDynamic Learning is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead across engineering teams, reporting to the Director of Engineering. This role focuses on improving delivery, architecture, and technical excellence, spanning multiple teams rather than one squad.

You will partner with managers, product, and DevOps to build scalable, maintainable systems and guide technical strategy for the organization. This remote role supports Canada and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years building and scaling full-stack applications.
• Staff/principal level experience influencing multiple teams or large systems.
• Deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript with front-end React experience.
• Strong system design, distributed systems and API architecture.
• Ability to solve ambiguous, cross-cutting technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across multiple teams and critical path work.
• Unblock complex technical challenges spanning systems and domains.
• Lead architecture decisions for scalability and maintainability.
• Conduct deep code reviews to uphold quality, performance, and reliability.
• Mentor senior engineers and technical leads through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to code in high-risk areas when needed.
• Drive engineering effectiveness, tooling, and deployment practices.
