Rite Aid is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to uphold architectural integrity while leveraging a decade of Laravel expertise. The role offers autonomy over scheduling and a path for growth within a strategic, impact-driven tech organization in Santa Fe, NM.

The engineer will tune high-throughput databases, define Vue.js coding standards, and drive complex migrations by breaking large initiatives into manageable gRPC increments across Rite Aid systems.

Qualifications

• 10 years of Laravel experience.
• Experience tuning high-throughput databases and schemas.
• Ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Decode the undocumented Innovation service nobody at Rite Aid remembers writing.
• Tune database queries and schemas for high-throughput Rite Aid workloads.
• Reach into legacy Unit Testing modules and leave them cleaner than you found them.
• Defend Rite Aid uptime through the 2 a.m. Santa Fe pages nobody volunteers for.
• Trace a make-it-better technology bug across three Unit Testing services to the one bad line.
• Set the Vue.js coding standards the rest of Rite Aid engineering follows.
• Break large technology initiatives into gRPC increments Santa Fe can actually deliver.
• Scale data pipelines processing millions of events with gRPC.
