Publix Super Markets, Inc. in Lakeland, FL, is seeking a cloud-focused engineer to migrate customer-facing apps to Azure. You will design, road map, and support cloud-based solutions in Azure, working with Architecture, Engineering, and Security to meet cloud standards.

The role requires extensive C#/.NET development and cloud experience, with hybrid work arrangement and on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 availability of critical applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar analytical discipline or educational equivalency as allowed by regulations.
• Nine years’ hands-on development experience in C# and .NET.
• Nine years’ hands-on IT experience in Cloud Systems Engineering and Application Development.
• Five years’ hands-on experience deploying and supporting cloud services in large-scale environments with CI/CD using Azure.
• Experience with JSON, Python, Bash, Shell, or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Migrate customer-facing applications from legacy mainframes to Microsoft Azure Cloud.
• Design, road map, and support cloud-based applications in Azure.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, and Security to align with cloud guidelines.

Your Impact

You will migrate customer-facing applications from propriety main frames to the Microsoft Azure Cloud. Design, road map, and support applications in the cloud, namely with Azure. Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, and Security to ensure customer facing digital solutions meet the overall enterprise cloud guidelines. Ensure resiliency, availability, performance, security, and cost optimization in the cloud. Debug and resolve complex issues in cloud environments for business-critical applications. Monitor, maintain and manage high availability applications in a production environment on the cloud. Provide 24/7 support of the customer facing digital cloud solutions and participate in an on-call rotation with the team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar analytical discipline. Publix will accept an educational equivalency evaluation prepared by a qualified evaluation service or in accordance with 8 CFR 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(D).
• Nine years’ hands‑on development experience in C# and .NET.
• Nine years’ hands‑on IT experience in Cloud Systems Engineering and Application Development.
• Five years’ hands‑on experience (1) deploying and supporting cloud services in a large‑scale environment; (2) with infrastructure automation for CI/CD of technical solutions using Azure Services and Features; and (3) with one or more of the following: JSON, Python, Bash, Shell, or PowerShell.
• Hybrid. At least eight days per month in Lakeland office.

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
