- 10+ years of experience designing and building production‑grade platforms using data streaming and orchestration solutions such as Kafka, NiFi, and Airflow.
- Experience building production‑grade microservices, preferably in Python.
- Experience building end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines and deploying to AWS environments (Lambda, EC2, ECS, EKS, etc.).
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices: unit tests, code review, version control, production monitoring.
- Proficient in managing cloud‑native platforms with a strong PaaS focus.
- Knowledge of version control, code reviews, and unit testing.
- Proactive approach, ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, agile environment.
- Strong collaboration, problem‑solving, and mentoring skills.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will play a key role in shaping and delivering Nike’s next‑generation platforms. As a Principal Software Engineer, you’ll leverage your technical expertise to build resilient, scalable solutions, manage platform performance, and maintain high code quality. You’ll also lead the adoption of open‑source and agile methodologies across the organization.
Day‑to‑Day Activities:
- Design and implement production‑grade platforms involving data streaming and orchestration (Kafka, NiFi, Airflow).
- Deep experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Argo CD, and related tooling.
- Install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters; apply best‑practice security (RBAC, network policies, pod security).
- Deploy and manage AWS resources: EC2, Lambda, Auto Scaling Groups, EBS, etc., and enforce security and compliance.
- Provision infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, and manage Helm/Kustomize deployments.
- Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Argo CD, other relevant tools) for efficient software delivery.
- Operate artifact repositories (Artifactory) and optimize for efficient artifact storage.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment scripts in Python, Groovy, and shell.
- Collaborate with product managers to scope new features, and with cross‑functional teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize AWS and Kubernetes environments for high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Apply security best practices, governance, and performance optimization across cloud‑native platforms.
- Maintain documentation and mentor team members through complex technical problems.
