Job summary

Dexian is seeking a Principal Software Engineer in Test to design, develop, and maintain advanced testing solutions for web and mobile applications. Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 6+ years with a master’s degree in CS or related field.
• Proven expertise designing robust QA strategies and test frameworks for API and web apps.
• Extensive test automation experience with Playwright, Cypress and related tools.
• Strong DevOps background, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
• Proficiency with GitHub, Bitbucket or Sourcetree.
• Experience in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Solid accessibility testing knowledge for accessible web experiences.
• SQL knowledge for data validation and automation setup.
• Active collaboration across teams to improve software quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain QA strategies and test frameworks for APIs, web, and mobile apps with end-to-end validation.
• Implement and enhance test automation using Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured, JUnit, and TestNG.
• Support CI/CD processes, including build pipelines, code branching, and version control.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve testability, accessibility, security, and quality.
• Write and maintain automated and manual tests, including unit, integration, functional, and performance tests.
• Use SQL queries for data validation, seeding, and automation tasks.
• Participate in cloud infrastructure automation: deployment, orchestration, and environment management.
• Contribute to test coverage, release velocity, and system health improvements.
• Support teams in adopting best testing practices and overall software quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive QA strategies and test frameworks for APIs, web, and mobile applications with end-to-end validation.
• Implement and enhance test automation using frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured, JUnit, and TestNG.
• Support continuous integration and deployment processes, including managing build pipelines, code branching, and version control.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve software testability, ensure accessible web experiences, and influence software design for security and quality.
• Write and maintain automated and manual tests, including unit, component, integration, functional, performance, and interoperability tests.
• Use SQL queries for data validation, database seeding, and automation tasks.
• Participate in cloud infrastructure automation, including cloud deployment, orchestration, and environment management.
• Contribute to the enhancement of test coverage, release velocity, and overall system health.
• Support team efforts to adopt best testing practices and promote overall software quality.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 6+ years with a master's degree in computer science or a closely related field.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing robust QA strategies and test frameworks for API and web applications.
• Extensive experience in test automation, including frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, and related tools.
• Strong background in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
• Proficiency with source control tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or Sourcetree.
• Experience in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Solid understanding of accessibility standards and testing accessible web experiences.
• Knowledge of SQL for data validation and automation setup.
• Ability to participate actively in application development, automated testing, and software engineering best practices.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across teams to improve software quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certification and hands-on experience in cloud-based automation.
• Experience with advanced monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk and Datadog.
• Familiarity with chaos testing, performance testing, and security testing methodologies.
• Prior experience with enterprise structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Background in building scalable automation test platforms and pipelines.
• Good understanding of accessible web design principles and testing.
