Job description

PointClickCare is searching for a Principal Software Engineer who will contribute to best practice application development by writing and rigorously defending production-grade code on a regular basis, while also encouraging and optimizing the daily execution of technical excellence across an empowered Scrum team. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring the ability to design and implement features from the ground-up while mentoring other team members and delivering both business and technical objectives through ambiguity and uncertainty.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  1. Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
  2. Work with business to iterate over software requirements
  3. Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
  4. Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
  5. Analyze and debug systems
  6. Perform validation and verification testing in a test-driven manner
  7. Review the work of others, and invite others to review your work
  8. Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products
  9. Ensure software is up-to-date with latest technologies
What qualifications we’re looking for:
  1. Sr. Software engineer with 7 + years of experience in Java, Spring Boot microservices.
  2. Solid experience with Jenkins, Docker/Kubernetes on Cloud (Azure or AWS)
  3. Solid experience with large scale distributed systems based on microservices
  4. Solid experience with data pipelines processing large amounts of data in Real Time or Near Real Time.
  5. Experience with Lakehouse architecture, Azure ADLS Gen2, Apache Hudi
  6. Excellent organization, critical-thinking and personal leadership skills
  7. Self-starter with the ability to deliver with minimal supervision
  8. Being okay with the uncomfortable feeling that comes from learning new things
  9. Team player
  10. Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
  11. Proven experience as a great Engineer
  12. We also really like candidates that have a good understanding of Enterprise Design patterns.

The base salary range for this position is $162,900-181,000 (not overtime eligible) + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by job and level, and individual compensation is determined by job-related skills and knowledge, relevant experience including professional and lived experience, and/or work location.
