Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for its Annapolis Junction, MD onsite team, focusing on cybersecurity and networking. You will work with R&D to design, develop, test and integrate software for advanced systems, collaborating with customers and other engineering disciplines.

The role requires a TS/SCI clearance, strong C/C++, Python, Rust skills, and experience with system-level integration. Domestic travel up to 25% may be required, and relocation support is available.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of experience developing in C, C++, Python, and/or Rust.
• Experience with system-level integration and testing of advanced processing systems and software.
• Experience developing, coding, testing, and debugging complex algorithms.
• Active and transferrable U.S. government Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• You will work with experienced R&D members on system development and deployments for defense.
• Participate in requirements, design, development and testing of software and new work products.
• Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams; present material as needed.
• Travel up to 25% domestically.
