Roblox is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for Safety Foundation in San Mateo, CA. You will lead a group of engineers, set architecture direction, and own high-impact backend systems essential to safety at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building large-scale backend/distributed systems.
• 4+ years as a tech lead, driving direction and growth.
• Strong proficiency in Go; CQRS & Event Sourcing a plus.
• Experience with NoSQL databases at scale.
• Interest in AI/ML platform integration for safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as hands-on tech lead for Safety Foundation engineers.
• Set technical direction and drive execution with architecture input.
• Lead scalable, cost-efficient platform design for high traffic.
• Drive AI-first transformation with ML-integrated workflows.
• Build developer experiences enabling rapid safety capabilities.
• Collaborate with multiple safety and product teams to translate needs.
• Define backend standards and mentor teammates.
