Job summary

Reuters seeks a Principal Software Engineer for the ONESOURCE Income Tax team in Frisco, TX. The role focuses on technical leadership, architecture, agentic AI design, security, and cloud modernization across AWS and GCP.

You will mentor engineers, drive standards, and collaborate with Product, Security, and senior leadership to deliver scalable enterprise applications used by major US corporations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years software engineering experience with senior/principal leadership roles.
• Strong experience with .NET/C#, Angular, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on AWS and GCP experience covering apps and infra.
• Proven record of evolving large, high-availability enterprise apps and modernizing legacy systems.

Responsibilities

• Set long-term technical vision for ONESOURCE Income Tax portfolio.
• Define architecture patterns, standards, and best practices.
• Lead AI agent architecture and MCP server expansion.
• Ensure secure design, pass third-party tests, and SOC/compliance controls.
• Guide cloud/infrastructure on AWS and GCP and modernize systems.
• Lead high-impact projects with risk and cross-team collaboration.
• Stakeholder partnership with Product, Security, and leadership.
• Mentor Senior and Lead engineers and foster engineering culture.
• Communicate complex tech ideas to executives and managers.
