Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of progressive software development experience with leadership in a principal/lead role.
• Proven ability to design and build large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficient in multiple modern languages (Java, C#, Python, Go, Node.js).
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of architecture patterns, data structures, and algorithms.

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software solutions within NCR VOYIX Corporation. This role requires a strong technical leader who can drive innovation, mentor junior engineers, and contribute significantly to our architectural strategy.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of scalable, high-performance, and secure software systems.
• Drive technical vision and strategy for key product areas, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
• Mentor and guide a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Conduct in-depth code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and architectural principles.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance development processes and product capabilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across various software components and systems.
• Contribute to the evolution of our engineering practices, including CI/CD, testing strategies, and deployment automation.
• Act as a technical subject matter expert, representing the team in cross-functional discussions and initiatives.
• Lead by example, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in software development, with a significant portion in a lead or principal engineer role.
• Proven expertise in designing and building large-scale, distributed, and highly available software systems.
• Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Go, Node.js).
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Deep understanding of software architecture patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with various database technologies (relational, NoSQL) and data warehousing concepts.
• Solid understanding of agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire technical teams.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges and make sound architectural decisions.
• Experience in the financial technology or retail technology sectors is a plus.
