Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• 6 years of directly related experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience with Generative AI assistants (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate scripting, debugging, and test generation, ML algorithm test engineering, cloud engineering with AWS/Azure/GCP, Python or equivalent scripting language, software development in test, test automation frameworks, CI/CD tools, cloud and container management technologies.

• Assist in executing dry run and formal verification testing

The Position

In this role you will work with a highly collaborative team of imaging scientists, product managers and software developers and build imaging and data analysis algorithms and solutions in the field of Digital Pathology.

You are a technical expert leading Software Development in Test, designing & developing automated software verification for image processing algorithms, pattern recognition and integration with platform software for Roche Digital Pathology products. You will lead and mentor junior engineers and foster software development best practices, test automation, verification and release.

The Opportunity

• Lead the design & development of automated testing of Roche Digital Pathology algorithms
• Collaborate with cross functional leads to align on work scope & release timelines
• Work closely with imaging scientists, subject matter experts to understand the algorithms and perform necessary data analysis for confirming the technical performance specifications and scientific accuracy. Also, troubleshoot failures and report any issues identified.
• Develop reusable and scalable data analysis tools libraries used for component as well as end-to-end verification.
• Become the image analysis subject matter expert and mentor junior engineers within the software test engineering organization.
• Participate in requirements, architecture, and design specification reviews
• Assist in executing dry run and formal verification testing
• Follow defined software development lifecycle procedures and best practices
• Design and implement cloud based solution for automated testing and deployment pipelines

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field is required; master’s or advanced Degrees preferred
• 6 years of directly related experience or equivalent combination is required - equivalent combination of education and experience, with three years of experience for each year of education.
• Related experience desired: Generative AI assistants (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate scripting, debugging, and test generation, experience in ML algorithm test engineering, cloud engineering with AWS, Azure or GCP, Python or equivalent scripting language, Software development in test, test automation frameworks, CI/CD tools, cloud and container management technologies

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is 143,800.00 - 226,368.99 USD Annual Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
