Job summary

The Principal Software Engineer at Cotality leads AI-first engineering initiatives across the Araya platform, driving the integration of AI-powered capabilities and scalable solutions. You will mentor engineers, shape technical direction, and partner with architecture and product leaders to deliver innovative, enterprise-grade software.

• Hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools, coding agents, and AI-first development practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Strong systems thinking with the ability to translate complex business problems into scalable technical solutions and architectural outcomes.
• Demonstrated success leading technical initiatives and driving architectural decisions across complex engineering organizations.

• Partner with Product, Architecture, and Engineering leaders to define technical strategy, influence architectural decisions, and deliver innovative customer solutions.
• Design and implement high-quality, maintainable solutions using Java, cloud-native technologies, and modern software engineering best practices.
• Build reusable AI skills, agents, and frameworks that accelerate engineering productivity and can be leveraged across the organization.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership through collaboration, code reviews, paired development, and knowledge sharing.
• Drive operational excellence by improving system reliability, security, scalability, and performance while helping teams rapidly diagnose and resolve production issues.

Job Description:

The Principal Software Engineer serves as a senior technical leader responsible for advancing Cotality’s AI-first engineering strategy across the Araya platform and broader SaaS product portfolio. This role combines deep software engineering expertise with practical experience applying agentic AI, intelligent automation, and modern development practices to deliver scalable, customer-facing solutions that transform how users interact with property technology systems.

Working closely with Engineering, Product, and Architecture leaders, the Principal Software Engineer will drive the integration of AI-powered capabilities into existing products, helping evolve traditional SaaS experiences into intelligent, agent-driven solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong system design and full-stack engineering experience, a passion for AI-enabled software development, and a proven ability to influence technical direction while mentoring other engineers in a fast-moving, innovation-focused environment.

Job Qualifications:

Required

• Hands‑on experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools, coding agents, and AI‑first development practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Demonstrated success leading technical initiatives and driving architectural decisions across complex engineering organizations.

Preferred

• Experience building agentic AI applications, AI‑powered product experiences, AI skills, MCP servers, or intelligent automation capabilities within production software.
• Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), modern front‑end frameworks, event‑driven architectures, and AI‑enabled product development.

Annual Pay Range:

134,400 - 165,000 USD
