Job summary

Good co India is seeking a senior Software Architect to define and drive the architectural vision and technical strategy for complex platforms. You will design scalable, secure systems and lead decisions across microservices, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms, ensuring best practices and long-term value.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, DevOps, security, and data teams while mentoring engineers and maintaining architectural documentation.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in software engineering, architecture, or technical leadership.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in architecture, design patterns, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on with Java, C#/ .NET, Python, or Go.

Role & responsibilities

• Define and drive the software architecture vision, technical strategy, and architectural roadmap for complex applications and platforms.
• Design highly scalable, resilient, secure, maintainable, and high-performance software systems.
• Lead architecture and system-design decisions across microservices, distributed systems, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and integrations.
• Establish software architecture standards, design principles, coding practices, reusable patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools and recommend solutions that provide long-term business and technical value.
• Lead the modernization, refactoring, and transformation of legacy applications and systems.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, DevOps, Security, Infrastructure, Data, and Business teams to deliver end-to-end technical solutions.
• Conduct architecture, design, and code reviews to ensure quality, scalability, security, and compliance with established standards.
• Identify technical risks, architectural gaps, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges and define appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Software Engineers, Senior Developers, Technical Leads, and Architects.
• Define and maintain architecture documentation, technical specifications, reference architectures, and system-design diagrams.
• Drive adoption of cloud-native technologies, DevOps, CI/CD, automation, observability, and engineering excellence practices.
• Ensure software solutions meet requirements for availability, reliability, performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Act as a senior technical authority and influence architecture decisions across multiple teams and technology domains.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5 to 10 years of strong experience in software engineering, software architecture, system design, or technical leadership roles.
• Proven experience designing and delivering complex, enterprise-scale software applications and distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in software architecture, design patterns, microservices, Domain-Driven Design, and distributed-system principles.
• Strong hands‑on experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, C#/.NET, Python, Go, or similar technologies.
• Excellent knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of databases, caching, messaging systems, APIs, event‑driven architecture, and enterprise integration.
• Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud‑native development.
• Strong knowledge of application security, scalability, high availability, performance optimization, and observability.
• Experience leading application modernization, cloud migration, and large‑scale technology transformation initiatives.
• Ability to make sound architectural decisions and balance technical excellence with business requirements, cost, timelines, and operational considerations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction across multiple development teams.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree and relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
