Job summary

Cotality is seeking a Principal, Software Architect to lead architecture across application, data-centric, and integration solutions. You will oversee a development team, liaise with business stakeholders, and advocate for both functional and architectural directions within the Enterprise Architecture team.

In this role you will define standards, review designs, mentor engineers, and drive strategies from proof-of-concept through production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in architecture and technology integration.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, software, networks, and telecommunications systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop architectural concepts and principles for enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in architectural frameworks and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex factors and solve diverse problems.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills with experience working across multiple teams and departments.
  • Experience in creating architectural reports and analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discussions and design for strategic initiatives across cloud, integration, and enterprise solutions.
  • Define vision and requirements, evaluate options, and select optimal solution.
  • Communicate the architecture to stakeholders and align IT standards.
  • Align roadmaps and maintain application ecosystem roadmap.
  • Evaluate designs and vendors and coordinate with analysts and developers.
  • Develop PoCs for integration use cases and quantify business value.
  • Document current and future state integration processes.
  • Maintain system/integration repository across segments.
  • Initiate meetings with owners and architects to review needs.
  • Work with peers on short- and long-range plans; present to leadership.
  • Research trends to simplify and accelerate information systems.
  • Engage in full project delivery lifecycle.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance to engineers.
  • Develop and present solution designs to ARB for approval.
  • Mentor developers on best practices and enterprise strategy.

Job Description

The Principal, Software Architect at Cotality will support the development of application, data-centric, and integration solutions with a strong focus on Product and Platform architecture methodologies. The ideal individual must possess outstanding communication abilities to oversee a development team and liaise with business stakeholders, conveying and advocating for both functional and solution ideas, ensuring consistency across diverse streams of complex projects, and programs. The role requires the ability to fortify ongoing initiatives, identify client requirements, and enhance existing legacy projects and programs. This position is within the Enterprise Architecture team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead discussions and development, design and architecture for strategic initiatives, including cloud, integration and enterprise solutions, engaging various Cotality business and technology teams as necessary
  • Reviews business context for solutions to company challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options and selecting the most optimal solution
  • Communicates the architecture to the stakeholders and collaborates and coordinates with existing domain architects in the formalization and adoption of IT standards and procedures
  • Drive transformational initiatives by aligning business and technology roadmaps and maintaining application ecosystem roadmap
  • Validate and future proof solution designs and software vendors, internal service providers, application business analysts, and application developers
  • Prepare, conduct, and evaluate proof-of-concept integration solutions per business use cases. Quantify the business values and articulate the value proposition to application teams and senior management
  • Document and diagram current and future state integration processes across business applications.
  • Inventory and maintain a Systems / Integration repository across segments to promote reusability.
  • Initiate both group and one-on-one meetings with application owners and enterprise architects for clear understanding of integration on current and future needs and in terms of business drivers and their application roadmaps
  • Work closely with other peer IT solutions architects in developing short- and long-range plans and review them with senior IT leadership and other organizational management.
  • Research and monitor technology trends and methodologies to simplify and to deliver faster information systems and integration services wins
  • Engage in the full cycle of project delivery process I.e. requirement, design, build, test, go live, and support
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to software engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
  • Develop and own Solution design and present the solution to Cotality Architectural Review Board (ARB) to review / evaluate / approve key technology and system initiatives across the enterprise
  • Mentor developers on architect best practices, enterprise strategies and vision
