Job summary

Verita AI is building a job marketplace for frontier AI talent. We are seeking a principal software architect to own systems architecture across our core platform, including the talent marketplace, annotation and evaluation systems, and analytics. This is a hands-on IC role with code review and migrations leadership.

You will define the platform’s core model, durable interfaces, and security standards, while delivering product outcomes for 100,000+ experts and researchers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of production software experience with systems-level impact.
• Hands-on with Python (Django/FastAPI) and PostgreSQL in distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS, Terraform, IAM, SSO/OIDC, and safe deployment practices.

This is an in office position M-F, 9-6. We are open to candidates in the area or that would like to move to the SF area

We are looking for a principal software architect to own systems architecture across Verita's core platform: our talent marketplace, annotation and evaluation systems, AI interviewing, expert routing, and analytics, built to support 100,000+ experts. This person will own the platform architecture, the core domain model, durable interfaces, and the security and reliability standards the engineering team builds on. This is a hands-on principal IC role: you will write code, review critical changes, and lead migrations while product delivery continues.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of experience building production software; evidence of systems-level impact matters more than a precise year count
• Python with Django or FastAPI, PostgreSQL, background jobs, queues, and distributed workflows
• Production AWS, Terraform, IAM, SSO and OIDC, observability, and safe deployment practices
• Versioned APIs and events, tenancy, idempotency, and safe schema evolution
• A live platform you designed and evolved, with migrations you led and operational results you can explain

Nice to have

• Experience designing marketplace, financial, or time-tracking data models (state machines, audit trails, backwards-compatible change)
• Experience exposing services through MCP or other agent-facing interfaces
