Job summary

Frey Consulting Group in Sherman, TX is seeking a Principal Materials & Failure Analysis Engineer (SIMS) to help establish and operate a new SIMS lab supporting advanced semiconductor manufacturing and R&D.

This highly hands-on role requires direct SIMS operation with Dynamic SIMS experience strongly preferred. You will qualify equipment, develop analytical methods, and create reliable workflows while collaborating with Manufacturing, Epitaxy, Product Engineering, Quality, and R&D teams.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on SIMS experience
• Experience operating SIMS instrumentation hands-on, not only data interpretation
• Dynamic SIMS experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of materials characterization and data interpretation
• Ability to communicate analytical findings to multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on SIMS analysis and operate analytical instrumentation
• Help establish and launch a new SIMS laboratory
• Develop and optimize SIMS methods, calibration and procedures
• Perform depth profiling, dopant, and contamination analysis
• Interpret SIMS results and translate findings to engineering teams
• Support failure analysis and root cause investigations with SIMS
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Epitaxy, Product Eng, Quality, and R&D
