Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph and U.S. citizenship; clearance adjudicated within last 3 years.
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience as a Signals Software Engineer on RF-focused projects including Fourier transforms and DSP.

In the Principal Signals Software Engineering role, you will design, develop, optimize, and test systems using models to successfully satisfy the customer mission for our satellite ground systems team. We are currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated Signals Software Engineer with a focus on radio frequencies, Fourier, and digital signals processing to join our Satellite Ground System Team. This is an onsite position in either State College, PA, Ft. Meade, MD, or Aurora, CO.

What You Will Do
  • Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate signal processing software with satellite ground systems.
  • Develop and implement algorithms for signal processing, including Fourier transforms, digital signal processing, and RF signal processing.
  • Analyze and optimize signal processing algorithms for improved performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to signal processing software.
  • Lead one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any project.
  • Follow established Software processes and procedures, development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts and requirements.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Active and transferable TS/SCI with Polygraph U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date with the adjudication date less than three years ago from your starting date for this position. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience unless.
  • Experience as a Signals Software Engineer (SSWE) or equivalent on a project with a focus on Radio Frequency (RF) to include experience with Fourier transforms, filtering, communications theory, digital modulation, error control coding, signals analysis tools (e.g., Wigner-Ville transform (WVT), DVT), and digital signal processing (e.g., adaptive beamforming/ filtering, demodulation).
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with software defined radio architectures.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Java, C, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with satellite communication systems and ground systems.
  • Experience with commercial wireless standards
  • Experience with geolocation techniques
  • Experience with software configuration management
  • Experience with Python and Matlab.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
