Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to support total systems engineering across concept to operation. Candidates should have a TS/SCI clearance and a background in ground systems engineering or integration, with strong MBSE and requirements management skills.

The role emphasizes interface with customers and subcontractors, rigorous verification/validation, and the development of procedures aligned with program needs in a dynamic defense environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; Master’s 3+ years; PhD not required.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance; willing to sit for a polygraph.
• Experience with ground systems engineering, systems integration, or software engineering.
• Experience with requirements engineering and model-based systems engineering.
• Experience collaborating with customers and subcontractors; strong communication skills.

What You'll Get to Do:

Performs system engineering, integration, verification and validation, for total systems. Work is performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, test, installation, operation, and maintenance. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical and schedule constraints. Maintain existing operations procedures up-to-date to also include lessons learned from real-time performance. Develop new procedures as required. Interface with program and customer personnel as required.

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's; 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years of relevant experience with a Master's; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD Proven experience with ground systems engineering, systems integrator or software engineer Experience with requirements engineering, working knowledge of Verification and Validation and Model Based Systems Engineering Experience working with customers and subcontractors Excellent written and oral communications skills Experience creating interface description documents. Active Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of application and willingness to sit for a polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with adjudicated polygraph Experience using Jira/confluence to collaborate regarding tasking and work instructions inside a team Experience using DOORs and/or Cameo for requirements management Experience and knowledge working with Hardware integration.

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
