About the role

As a Principal Seismic Engineer, you will civil / structural design activities which include evaluation of soil-structure-interaction effects and characterization of dynamic soil properties. You will address technical issues for seismic analysis using analytical tools, justify design changes, and troubleshoot new issues.

You will report to the Manager of Concrete / Rebar Design and Seismic Analysis. You will work a remote schedule.

Annually Paid: We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.

Responsibilities
  • Civil / structural design activities like evaluation of soil-structure-interaction effects and characterization of dynamic soil properties
  • Address technical issues related to seismic analysis of building structures and fabrication, assembly, and construction phases of civil/structural projects like technical justification of design changes and sometimes troubleshooting emergent technical issues
  • On-Site support at utilities and smaller projects
  • Analytical tools like ANSYS, LS-DYNA, GTSTRUDL, and SASSI
  • Aid in maintenance of software compliance records and closure of engineering corrective actions
  • Become familiar with applicable industry civil/structural codes like ACI, AISC, ASCE, and AWS standards and Westinghouse procedures
  • Develop engineering sketches and markups using AutoCAD or similar CAD programs
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering -or- Structural Engineering
  • Nice-to have but not required:
    • PE, FE/EIT
    • Nuclear industry
    • Seismic analysis and soil-structure-interaction analysis
