Cisco Systems is seeking a Principal Engineer to join the Security and Policy Platform Group as a fully remote role in the United States. You will help transform Cisco’s security products into comprehensive outcomes, spanning cloud and client infrastructure, with emphasis on reliability and long-term scalability.

You will mentor senior engineers, shape technical direction, and partner across teams to deliver high-impact, scalable solutions that align with Cisco’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 12+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale software, platform, or distributed systems.
• Experience building and scaling highly available, secure, and distributed systems in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Experience coding in modern languages such as Go, Rust, or C++.
• 5+ years of experience with security, privacy, and data protection principles applied to policy and platform systems.
