Job summary

Milpitas, CA onsite Principal Software Engineer role at Cisco Secure Access. You will lead architecture, design and deployment of scalable production-grade apps, collaborating across teams to define requirements and drive implementation.

You will mentor engineers, review designs, and evaluate new technologies and AI-enabled tooling to improve SDLC efficiency, reliability, and security across the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Computer Science with extensive leadership and architecture experience across multiple teams.
• 7+ years in a technical leadership role and architecture.
• 10+ years development in AWS cloud or similar with proficiency in Python, Go or Java.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, APIs, micro-services and production operations.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and technical strategy across multiple teams from problem definition to rollout and operational support.
• Oversee design, code quality and deployments; communicate technical solutions to leadership groups.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in design and code reviews; evaluate new tech and tools.
