Job summary

Hotwire Communications seeks a Principal Security Architect to lead hands-on security design and governance for cloud and on-premise systems. You will partner with enterprise architects to embed security into lifecycle processes, infrastructure, and standards.

The role requires deep expertise in cloud technologies, security best practices, and enterprise IT environments, with responsibilities spanning risk assessment, security controls, and periodic assessments of cloud environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years related IT or cybersecurity experience.
  • 3+ years architecting and operating solutions with cloud service providers (Azure or AWS).
  • Practical knowledge of PCI, GDPR, NIST standards, or ISO27000 frameworks.

  • Manage cloud infrastructure cybersecurity standards and procedures in collaboration with audit and compliance teams.
  • Develop cybersecurity strategic plans, roadmaps, and long-term architectural guidance.
  • Serve as the primary interface between IT, business units, and security teams to evaluate business needs and deliver security strategies.
  • Design and enhance security controls for endpoints, mobile devices, authentication, authorization, threat detection, and logging.
  • Lead the development of the enterprise cloud security architecture vision, frameworks, and standards.

Job description

The Principal Security Architect is a hands-on technical leader responsible for providing security guidance and architectural oversight for cloud and on-premise information systems. This role designs, implements, and maintains secure cloud architectures while partnering with enterprise architects to ensure security standards are embedded into Hotwire’s enterprise frameworks, lifecycle processes, and infrastructure. The individual must demonstrate deep expertise in cloud technologies, security best practices, and enterprise IT environments.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Manage cloud infrastructure cybersecurity standards and procedures in collaboration with audit and compliance teams.
  • Develop cybersecurity strategic plans, roadmaps, and long-term architectural guidance.
  • Serve as the primary interface between IT, business units, and security teams to evaluate business needs, interpret security requirements, assess risks, and deliver security strategies.
  • Design and enhance security controls for critical systems including endpoints, mobile devices, authentication, authorization, threat detection, and logging.
  • Lead the development of the enterprise cloud security architecture vision, frameworks, and standards aligned to business and technology strategies.
  • Maintain deep technical expertise in Microsoft data center technologies, including Azure, Active Directory, Office 365, and Windows Server.
  • Establish and maintain security metrics and measurement frameworks to monitor the organization’s operational security posture.
  • Participate in cloud infrastructure design reviews to ensure alignment with security and compliance standards.
  • Provide expert cloud security input during technical meetings, reviews, and briefings with leadership, customers, and partners.
  • Conduct annual or periodic cybersecurity assessments for cloud systems and environments.
  • Validate cloud infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 3+ years architecting and operating solutions with cloud service providers (Azure or AWS)
  • Minimum of 10+ years related IT or cybersecurity experience
  • Practical knowledge of PCI, GDPR, NIST standards, or ISO27000 frameworks
