Job description

Principal Scientist, Discovery BioSciences Oncology

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead efforts in understanding cancer immunology and tumor cell extrinsic targets through functional genomics, utilizing patient-relevant disease models such as cell lines, organoids, and PDX. The successful candidate will manage a team, collaborate across departments, and generate mechanistic insights to support target validation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Discovering next-generation oncology biotherapeutic targets using molecular biology and genome engineering techniques in disease models.
  • Managing and leading a team effectively.
  • Developing and articulating scientific strategies and concepts.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across Discovery Oncology and other enterprise groups.
  • Applying advanced gene perturbation methods and ex vivo pharmacology.
  • Interfacing with computational biologists and utilizing large-scale genetic datasets for hypothesis generation.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of experience, or
  • Master's Degree with 6+ years of experience, or
  • Ph.D. with 4+ years of experience in Life Sciences.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ph.D. with extensive experience in Oncology, cancer immunology, or tumor extrinsic mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in cell-based assays, gene perturbation, and molecular biology techniques.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
