Job summary

Pulsespace in Seattle, WA seeks a Principal Avionics Architect to lead end-to-end satellite avionics architecture and flight-ready hardware. You will drive compute, programmable logic, power, and communications design across multi-disciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has deep systems engineering experience, 10+ years in avionics, and a track record of delivering high-reliability space hardware. This full-time role requires collaboration with mechanical, thermal, software, and payload

Qualifications

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of avionics design experience for aerospace or satellite systems.
  • Proven expertise in satellite compute systems, programmable logic, power systems, and PCBA design.
  • Strong schematic entry, circuit design, and PCB layout skills.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary systems engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Architect next-generation satellite avionics systems, including compute, logic, power, and interfaces.
  • Define compute system architecture, memory, redundancy, and programmable logic interfaces.
  • Design power distribution, battery management, and solar array control for space environments.
  • Define communications protocols across subsystems and ground stations.
  • Lead design reviews from concept through flight qualification and ensure system-level reliability.
  • Mentor avionics engineers and collaborate with mechanical, thermal, software, and payload teams.
