Principal Salesforce Software Engineer / Technical Lead | Location: Hartford, CT | Contract | Hourly Pay Range $60-$66

A highly experienced Salesforce expert is sought to serve as the enterprise's principal technical authority for the Salesforce ecosystem. This role involves defining platform architecture, establishing engineering standards, leading modernization efforts, and ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable to support business growth. The position combines deep Salesforce platform knowledge with strong software engineering fundamentals, focusing on system strategy, data architecture, and governance, alongside hands‑on development and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and govern scalable, secure Salesforce solutions across multiple business domains.
  • Define and enforce enterprise architecture standards, including platform strategy, data modeling, security, and integration patterns.
  • Lead architectural reviews, technical decision-making, and platform roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide hands‑on development in Apex, Lightning Web Components, and integrations, balancing architecture, design review, and mentorship.
  • Own and govern Salesforce architecture standards, release processes, and enterprise integration strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to establish org strategy, environment topology, and data ownership boundaries.
  • Drive platform modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy automation frameworks to modern solutions like Flow and Lightning Web Components.
  • Lead development of reusable frameworks, shared components, and engineering best practices.
  • Design and govern enterprise integration solutions, ensuring secure, reliable data exchange with other systems.
  • Own Salesforce data architecture, including data modeling, quality, migration, and governance strategies.
  • Establish and promote DevOps standards, CI/CD automation, and release management practices.
  • Own security architecture, including profiles, permission sets, sharing models, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage vendor relationships, license planning, and AppExchange evaluations.
  • Partner with product owners, stakeholders, and enterprise architects to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 12+ years of Salesforce platform development and architecture experience.
  • Deep expertise in Salesforce architecture, security, and data modeling.
  • Proven experience designing enterprise-scale Salesforce solutions in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, integration patterns, and system boundaries.
  • Hands‑on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce integrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives across multiple teams without direct authority.
  • Experience establishing engineering standards, governance, and architecture review processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in regulated industries such as insurance, financial services, or healthcare.
  • Leadership in enterprise CRM transformation programs.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML capabilities within Salesforce, including Einstein and Data Cloud.
  • Experience with large‑scale data migration, org consolidation, or mergers.
  • Familiarity with cloud‑native architecture and non‑Salesforce platform integrations.
  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA), Application Architect, or System Architect certifications.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II or Integration Architect certifications.
