10Beauty, a robotics startup based in Burlington, MA, is seeking a Principal Robotics Software Engineer to architect and deliver the systems powering our autonomous manicure robot.

You will own the long-term software architecture, lead core components in C++ on Raspberry Pi 4/Linux, mentor engineers, and solve cross-disciplinary real-time embedded challenges with hardware, software and vision teams.

This is a hands-on role with equity and benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience shipping complex hardware products, preferably in robotics.
• Deep expertise in C++, including system design and performance optimization.
• Experience architecting real-time, safety-critical embedded systems.
• Proven ability to solve ambiguous, cross-functional problems with hardware, software, and vision teams.
• Extensive experience with Linux-based embedded systems and hardware/software integration.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the long-term software architecture of the software that powers our robotic consumer product, with a focus on its performance and reliability in a production environment.
• Lead the design, development, and optimization of core software components (primarily in C++ on Raspberry Pi 4/Linux) that control our advanced robotic systems.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, tackling the most ambiguous and technically challenging system-level issues that cross disciplines (electrical, mechanical, and computer vision).
• Drive the technical roadmap for robotic control systems, exploring and integrating new technologies and algorithms.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers, helping them grow and solve complex problems.

Introduction

As a Principal Robotics Software Engineer at 10Beauty, you will play a critical role in architecting and delivering the systems that power our next-generation autonomous manicure robot. This is a highly impactful position for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of hardware and software, is passionate about robotics, and is energized by solving complex real-world problems in a fast-paced startup environment!

What You'll Do

• Own and evolve the long-term technical architecture of the software that powers our robotic consumer product, with a focus on its performance and reliability in a production environment
• Lead the design, development, and optimization of core software components (primarily in C++ on Raspberry Pi 4/Linux) that control our advanced robotic systems
• Serve as a subject matter expert, tackling the most ambiguous and technically challenging system-level issues that cross disciplines (electrical, mechanical, and computer vision)
• Drive the technical roadmap for robotic control systems, exploring and integrating new technologies and algorithms

What You Have

• 8+ years of proven experience in software development, with a track record of successfully shipping multiple complex hardware products, most ideally within robotics
• Deep expertise in C++, with a mastery of system design, low-level debugging, and performance optimization.
• Demonstrated expertise in architecting and leading the development of large-scale, real-time, and safety-critical embedded systems.
• Proven ability to solve highly ambiguous and technically challenging problems in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Extensive experience with Linux-based embedded systems, hardware/software integration, and real-time constraints.
• Experience with embedded systems in a robotics or electromechanical context is highly preferred.

Salary Range

$180,000 — $200,000 USD
