Job summary

Google’s AI and Infrastructure (AI2) team seeks a Principal Engineer to lead Data Center Robotics strategy. You’ll direct development of robotics automation solutions for large-scale hardware deployment, repair, and decommission processes, guiding internal teams and external partners.

In this role you’ll shape the roadmap for AMRs, AGVs, and robotic arms, collaborating with executives and engineers to capture the latest robotics and AI advances and rapidly deploy them across Google’s hyperscale

Qualifications

PhD in Robotics or related field or equivalent practical experience.
15 years of experience in robotics systems engineering or architecture.
Experience leading robotics applications development and deploying real-world systems.
Experience in robotic control, planning, kinematics and mechatronic systems.

Responsibilities

Scope and develop advanced robotics automation solutions for data center hardware.
Collaborate with executive leadership on AI2's data center robotics strategy and ecosystem.
Capture the latest robotics and AI technologies and rapidly deploy within AI2.
Lead engineering execution and provide technical leadership for AMRs, AGVs, and robotic arms.
