Job summary

STR is seeking a Principal Algorithm & Signal Processing Engineer in the Arlington, VA area to drive state-of-the-art RF sensing and electronic warfare algorithms from concept to prototype. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, engage with customers, and help shape future program directions.

Candidates should have advanced degrees in EE/Mathematics/Physics with 8–12+ years of experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and C/C++.

Qualifications

  • Requires BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related disciplines.
  • Typically 8–12+ years of relevant experience depending on education and demonstrated expertise.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary technical teams and projects from concept to operational prototype.
  • Architect advanced RF sensing and EW algorithms for prototype systems.
  • Engage with customers to understand needs and shape solutions and proposals.
  • Mentor junior researchers and provide technical direction across programs.
  • Transition research technologies into operational prototypes and systems.
  • Design and apply cutting-edge signal processing to RF sensing and counter-sensing challenges.
  • Support business development and lead proposal efforts to guide future program direction.
