A top-tier engineering firm is seeking a Principal Relay Settings Engineer to join their System Protection group. This is a fully remote role with occasional travel required for onsite support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and program protective relay settings to ensure system safety and reliability.
• Perform owner's engineering duties, providing oversight and technical support to utility clients.
• Conduct CT performance evaluations, short circuit studies, and feasibility analyses.
• Lead the development of protection standards, setting templates, and technical documentation.
• Perform peer reviews and quality checks on relay settings deliverables.
• Support relay testing and commissioning activities as needed.
• Provide leadership in project planning, client communication, and internal coordination.
• Mentor junior engineers and support training initiatives within the protection team.
• Represent the team in industry forums and technical meetings.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in protection and control engineering, with a focus on relay settings; 15+ years preferred.
• Deep familiarity with IEEE, NERC PRC standards, and industry best practices.
• Proficient with CAPE or equivalent short circuit modeling software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
