B. Braun Medical Inc. is seeking a Principal Video Engineer in California to lead the design, development, and optimization of the imaging and video pipeline for the AEOS Digital Surgery line.

You will deliver low-latency visualization and advanced imaging capabilities, collaborating across software, hardware, and systems teams. The role requires deep expertise in C++, CUDA, and real-time rendering, with a focus on high image quality, system performance, and regulatory compliance in a medical

Qualifications

• 12+ years of HW/SW/system experience or 10+ with a master's or PhD.
• Experience with C++, CUDA, and OO design.
• Experience in regulated medical devices (IEC 62304 / FDA Design Controls).
• Git/SVN version control experience.
• Agile/Scrum development experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and optimize end-to-end video pipeline for the AEOSx Digital Surgery product line.
• Serve as the technical authority for real-time imaging technologies.
• Architect scalable software frameworks for camera systems, image signal processing, calibration and real-time video workflows.
• Develop GPU-accelerated algorithms using CUDA to maximize image quality, throughput and responsiveness.
• Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to engineering teams.
• Support software verification, validation, and regulatory compliance activities for medical imaging systems.
