Job summary

RSC2, Inc. is seeking a Principal Radar Engineer to define radar architectures, design processing algorithms, and drive integration into counter‑defensive systems at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in EE or CS, 8+ years in radar/RF engineering, Agile/DevOps experience, and an Active Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science; advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in radar and RF engineering, preferably specializing in air‑to‑air radar systems.
• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Knowledge of Electronic Warfare/Electronic Attack/Electronic Protection techniques.
• Experience using Jira for task management and issue tracking.

Responsibilities

• Define radar system architectures for air‑to‑air and counter‑defensive radar systems.
• Design radar processing algorithms and support integration into counter‑defensive systems.
• Lead radar projects from conception to completion in a collaborative environment.
• Develop and code system models, algorithms, and test vectors.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively and produce program and proposal documentation.

We are seeking a Principal Radar Engineer to join our forward‑thinking engineering team. This position will be critical in defining radar system architectures, designing radar processing algorithms, and supporting integration into counter‑defensive systems. The ideal candidate will have the technical expertise and leadership skills to drive our radar projects from conception to completion. Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge * Radar Systems: In‑depth knowledge of radar system architectures, including air‑to‑air and counter‑defensive radar systems. Familiarity with radar system concepts such as detection, discrimination, track, and signal processing algorithms.

• Algorithm Development: Strong understanding of radar processing algorithms, waveform design, and signal processing techniques.
• RF Engineering: Comprehensive understanding of Phased Array and Digital Beamforming Technology, as well as electronic protection methods.
• Statistical and Numerical Analysis: Ability to conduct statistical analysis of radar system performance data using real or simulated data.
• Systems Engineering: Expertise in the development of systems engineering artifacts such as System/Subsystem Requirements Documents (SRD), Architecture Diagrams, Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), and Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP).

Skills * Technical Leadership: Experience leading the development of radar systems, from architecture to implementation.

• Systems Engineering Tools: Proficiency with MATLAB, DOORS, and Cameo System Modeler.
• Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Technical Communication: Proficient in creating and delivering both informational and technical briefings. Technical writing experience in generating program and proposal documentation such as CONOPS, Test Plans, etc.
• Programming and Modeling: Experience with the development and coding of system models, algorithms, test vectors, and analysis tools.
• Collaboration: Ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative development environment, interacting effectively with internal and external customers across related programs.

Abilities * Customer Interaction: Capacity to work closely with customers to define requirements, propose solutions, assess costs, and discuss system impacts and effectiveness.

• Adaptability: Aptitude for quickly adapting to new software and hardware environments relevant to radar and RF engineering.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, especially when dealing with complex calculations, simulations, and design tasks.

Active Secret Clearance.

• Familiarity with missions such as active protection, vehicle protection, hostile fire detection, counter-UAV, counter-UAS, all‑threat air surveillance, and 3D perimeter surveillance.
• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Knowledge of Electronic Warfare/Electronic Attack/Electronic Protection techniques.
• Experience using Jira for task management and issue tracking.

Salary at RSC2 is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, the particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $83,000- $199,690 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical total compensation range for this position.
