Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Columbia, SC is seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to implement Business Unit Quality policies and systems, aligning with customer requirements and applicable standards. This role is 100% onsite and reports to the Manager of Quality Engineering.

You will lead complex QA projects, drive corrective actions, review design documentation for nuclear and non-nuclear scopes, and coordinate supplier performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; required.
• 5+ years of experience; required.
• In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
• Hands-on experience building small prototypes.
• Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time studies, and process balancing.
• Collaborate with program managers, manufacturing leads, customers, and functional leads; provide daily direction to other engineers.

Responsabilités

• Direct assessments of operations and opportunities for performance improvement.
• Recommend and influence corrective actions and integrate results into QA policies.
• Lead, coordinate and integrate complex multi-area projects.
• Monitor progress and direct teams to meet budgetary and schedule constraints.
• Review design engineering docs to verify QA requirements for nuclear and non-nuclear projects.
• Identify deviations that could cause safety/environmental hazards or malfunctions.
