Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Principal Project Engineer to drive cross‑functional alignment for high visibility gas turbine engine programs. You will lead engineering teams across production, quality, manufacturing and supply chain to maintain fleet performance and integration of propulsion systems.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in design/development/test of gas turbine engines or related systems, and strong experience with project management tools and earned value management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (science, technology, engineering or mathematics).
• Minimum 10 years in design, development and/or test of gas turbine engines, nacelle systems, engine control systems or other complex mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in project management tools and methods (e.g. Microsoft Project, Agile Scrum/Kanban, Earned Value Management System).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a sustaining engineering team responsible for production support, fleet reliability, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee planning, prioritization, and execution of projects to meet performance, schedule, and cost targets.
• Drive cross‑functional coordination to resolve technical issues spanning design, analysis, test, manufacturing, and field operations.
• Partner with aircraft OEMs to define requirements, resolve technical issues, and maintain alignment with program objectives.
• Collaborate with suppliers on technical deliverables, quality assurance, and schedule recovery; support trade studies and design improvements.
• Lead root‑cause investigations for field reliability, in‑service events, and production escapes; ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
• Own cost accounts and manage budgets, forecasts, resource fill rates, and earned value performance.
• Ensure compliance with internal processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Communicate team status, risks, recommendations, and recovery plans to leadership and customers; support formal program reviews.
