Job Opportunity: Principal Project Controls Specialist

Join Parsons in the San Francisco / Oakland Bay Area offices! We are seeking a Principal Project Controls Specialist to support transportation projects like BART. This role offers a hybrid work model, with 2 days remote after an initial 3-month full-time in-office period.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with cost control, budget management, data handling, and reporting within the project control system.
• Develop and implement project control tools and procedures, ensuring best practices.
• Analyze and validate data for accuracy and reliability.
• Organize project data for timely reporting.
• Create metrics and reports for management and stakeholders.
• Develop new processes related to budgets, estimates, schedules, and project information.
• Review project budgets and scope changes for proper justification.
• Resolve project-specific issues related to budget, scope, schedule, and funding.

Required Skills:

• Experience in project controls, including planning, budgeting, estimating, and reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, IT, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience supporting construction projects.
• Experience with project management software such as Oracle Primavera, Unifier, Timberline, etc.

Essential Skills:

• Strong knowledge of project control functions and processes.
• Operational experience in planning, scheduling, cost control, and financial analysis.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, advanced features).
