Job summary

Huntress is a remote-first cybersecurity company seeking a Principal Product Researcher. You will lead research to counter evolving threats, collaborating across Product, Engineering, and Security to deliver impactful features.

Strong Windows internals, kernel, and scripting skills are essential, with emphasis on AI-assisted research and clear documentation. You will defend millions of endpoints and engage in cutting-edge threat detection initiatives, mentorship, and cross-team collaboration

Qualifications

• Expert in Windows OS internals, components, APIs.
• Experience with Windows OS kernel coding and device drivers.
• Experience testing EDRs, bypasses, and evasion techniques.
• Familiar with reverse engineering and using debuggers.
• Proficiency in multiple languages: C/C++/C#/PowerShell/Python.
• Applies AI to improve research quality, speed, and outputs.
• Commitment to clear documentation of research findings.
• Experience with MITRE ATT&CK, SIGMA, Yara, Elasticsearch/Kibana.

Responsibilities

• Identify innovative ways to detect Windows OS threats.
• Develop cross-platform features that leverage telemetry from OS subsystems.
• Research and develop sensor capabilities for visibility and detection across Windows versions.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Security to implement detection logic.
• Identify and evaluate new telemetry opportunities.
• Address gaps in product coverage.
• Respond to product escalations.
• Lead research initiatives to develop security product strategies.
• Coordinate with teams to operationalize Huntress solutions.
• Apply AI to speed and improve outputs while maintaining accountability.
• Build reusable prompts, templates, or workflows for recurring tasks.
• Create internal/external technical docs to educate customers.
