Principal Product Manager-Tech, Capacity Planning Science, Simulation, and Optimization

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

The Kuiper Global Capacity Planning team owns designing, implementing, and operating systems that support the planning, management, and optimization of Kuiper network resources worldwide. We are looking for a talented product manager to lead the vision, strategy, and roadmap for inventory planning, simulation, and optimization. This effort will be instrumental in helping Kuiper execute on its business plans globally. As one of our valued team members, you will be obsessed with matching our standards for operational excellence with a relentless focus on delivering results.

Key Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  1. Set long-term vision, strategy, and processes to generate the inventory plan
  2. Work closely with Scientists to deliver your vision.
  3. Dive deep on internal and external customer data and feedback, and ensure the team makes the right trade-offs and protects high standards on behalf of the customer.
  4. Move fast, innovate, and find ways to simplify.
  5. Define business and systems requirements working with internal and external customers.
  6. Create effective ways of measuring the performance of your solutions and surface new opportunities for improvement.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience technical product management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
  • Experience with simulators or ML-powered products.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
