Job description

LifeStation is a mission-driven healthcare technology company providing personal safety and remote monitoring solutions for older adults. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Union, New Jersey, LifeStation remains privately held and focused on transforming the lives of the rapidly growing senior population in the U.S. through personal emergency response systems (PERS) and other technology-enabled health services. Its in-home, mobile, and smartwatch-enabled solutions promote safety and independence for older adults while delivering actionable insights to caregivers and care teams to support continuity of care.

LifeStation is now one of the largest providers of medical alert monitoring and technology services in the U.S., serving nearly one million older adults and their families with dependable, compassionate support.

The opportunity

LifeStation is hiring a Principal Product Manager to own the digital experiences used by our members and their caregivers, with primary responsibility for our mobile apps and web applications. This is a hands-on role for a product leader who knows how to create and launch consumer mobile products, learn from real user behavior, and turn that learning into sustained adoption and engagement.

You will set product direction, lead discovery, translate customer and business needs into clear priorities, develop feature and functionality requirements and partner closely with design, software engineering, operations, marketing, customer service, and external development partners. The role reports to the Vice President of Product and Technology and is a hybrid position based in LifeStation’s Union, New Jersey office. Employees in this role are expected to work in the office at least three days per week

What you will own
  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and backlog for LifeStation's member and caregiver mobile and web experiences.
  • Lead the full product lifecycle from customer discovery and concept definition through development, launch, measurement, and continuous improvement.
  • Define clear outcomes and success metrics across activation, onboarding, feature adoption, engagement, retention, customer satisfaction, and support demand.
  • Build a strong understanding of older adults, caregivers, and families through interviews, usability testing, surveys, behavioral data, and customer-care feedback.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and emerging practices in consumer health, aging, caregiving, and connected safety products.
  • Write clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release plans that give design and software engineering teams the context needed to solve problems well.
  • Collaborate with software engineering and quality assurance on testing, release readiness, and App Store and Google Play launches.
  • Use analytics and qualitative research to evaluate product performance, prioritize improvements, and communicate what is working and what needs to change.
  • Coordinate go-to-market and adoption efforts with marketing, sales, operations, fulfillment and customer service teams.
What success looks like
  • Customers and caregivers can understand and complete key journeys with minimal friction or assistance.
  • New capacities launch with clear goals, instrumentation, rollout plans, and measurable results.
  • Mobile and web usage grows because the product delivers real value to our customers
  • Cross-functional partners understand the roadmap, the rationale behind priorities, and the outcomes the team is working toward.
What you bring
  • 10+ years of hands-on product management experience, including a track record of launching mobile products or major features and improving adoption, engagement, or retention after launch.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to balance customer value, business priorities, technical constraints, and speed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn ambiguity into clear decisions and align technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Technical fluency to discuss APIs, integrations, data flows, mobile release processes, and implementation tradeoffs without needing to be an engineer.
  • A practical, curious, and collaborative working style with a willingness to move between strategy and execution.
Helpful experience
  • Experience developing customer-facing software experiences that interact with connected devices, wearables, IoT products, or other physical hardware.
  • Experience working with WordPress-powered websites, including content management, user experience, integrations, and collaboration with developers or external agencies.
  • Working with external product development partners or distributed engineering teams.
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
  • Entrepreneurial work environment with the freedom to get things done
  • Chance to grow by working with an extremely talented team
  • Make a true impact on our company and its services with high-visibility and possibilities for career growth
  • Company outings, catered lunches, team building events and much more
  • Excellent location close to highways
  • Benefits and Perks
