This person will play a key part in shaping both the strategy and design vision for our evolving and growing advertising platform. Key initial areas of focus include campaign planning and creation, creative review, and interactive ad formats. Key Responsibilities

Principal Product Designers at Disney are resourceful problem solvers and influential leaders who collaborate with engineering, product management, and stakeholder leadership throughout the design process – in service of shipping impactful work. In this role, you will work independently to drive multiple complex projects, identify new opportunities for impact, and ship work that sets the standard for the organization.

Specifically, the person in this role will be expected to:

1. Take the lead and deliver projects of large and/or ambiguous scope.
2. Play a critical role in helping set goals and direction for the team.
3. Solve design problems that few others can, leveraging exceptional product thinking, interaction design, and/or craft – while elevating the work of those around them.
4. Frame discussions to elicit desired feedback, while clearly and articulately representing their work in larger presentations and leadership reviews.
5. Make the broader design organization better by leading initiatives such as interviewing, mentorship/teaching, process improvements, onboarding, design standards.
6. Strengthen culture and identify areas for development within the team and proactively drive initiatives to make the team’s work stronger.

Qualifications

As an applicant to this role, we ask that your portfolio demonstrates:

1. 10+ years of relevant industry experience
2. Experience shipping high-utility mobile or desktop applications, simplifying complex user flows, or delivering new product innovation that disrupted conventions
3. Exceptional product thinking, interaction design, and craft skills
4. Expert understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices
5. Self-motivated problem solving with the ability to lead multiple complex projects simultaneously
6. Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively, and to collaborate effectively with sr leaders and stakeholders
7. Hunger for innovation, fluidity with ideas, eagerness to challenge the status quo
8. Strong interest in and aptitude for leveraging data to inform design, and learning new technologies
9. Strong work ethic, are a self-starter, adaptable, and inspire those around you
10. Ability to design solutions that solve business problems and deliver impact
11. Expert knowledge of Figma and/or other design tools
12. BA/BS or equivalent experience required

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $175,800.00 to $235,700.00 per year and in Glendale, CA is $167,700.00 to $224,900.00 per year and in San Francisco, CA is $183,700.00 to $246,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
