MKS Instruments in Wilmington, MA seeks a Principal Product Compliance Engineer to lead regulatory testing and ensure compliance across Plasma and Reactive Gas products. • B.S./M.S. in EE or related field with 7+ years of product compliance testing.
• Experience with LVD and EMC/EMI directives and harmonized standards (61010-1, 61326-1, Semi S2).
• Knowledge of global regulations (FCC, CE, KC, UL, RoHS, REACH, CA65, EPA TSCA, WEEE, China RoHS, PFAS).

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a PRINCIPAL PRODUCT COMPLIANCE ENGINEER at MKS Instruments, you will partner with cross-functional technical teams and external compliance testing facilities to drive regulatory product compliance and support sustainability initiatives for multiple product lines and technologies. In this role, you will report to the Director Operations, Compliance.

You Will Make an Impact By:

Assume compliance responsibility for all products within the Plasma and Reactive Gas business unit nationally and internationally.

• Work closely with engineering and cross-functional product teams to ensure all NPI (New Product Introduction) and legacy products adhere to required regulatory compliance standards.
• Partner with engineering to ensure technical approaches, documentation, concepts and solutions are implemented according to MKS specification and requirements
• Directs and conducts internal compliance testing, leading efforts to solve engineering safety issues resulting in compliance testing
• Ensures product designs meet applicable regulation requirements including certification, ongoing testing and processing requirements
• Maintains regulatory approvals and resolves compliance issues with design and manufacturing engineering
• Coordinates design requirement review with appropriate engineering personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods

Skills You Bring:

• B.S. or M.S. degree in a related field (EE preferred) with 7+ years of experience with a focus on product compliance testing
• Experienced with LVD, EMC/EMI directives, and harmonized standards (61010-1, 61326-1, Semi S2, etc.)
• Working knowledge of global regulations (FCC, CE, KC, UL, RoHS, REACH, CA65, EPA TSCA, WEEE, China RoHS, PFAS, and others) across multiple industries (commercial and industrial products)

• Comfortable in environments that depend on influence to drive outcomes
• Excels in tackling complex problems and synthesizing them into actionable solutions
• Knowledgeable with hands-on troubleshooting and test experience (Power Electronics, LVD, EMC/EMI)
• Easily handles project multitasking with timelines
• Able to travel approximately 20% annually as needed to support regulatory product compliance testing and audits

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Pay Range:

$110,000.00 - 160,000.00 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.

Bonus:

This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
