Global Edge Group is seeking an experienced Principal Process Safety Engineer to support the development and execution of large-scale LNG and energy infrastructure projects. This role will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring engineering quality, process safety compliance, and successful project execution from early development through commissioning and startup.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the technical development of LNG and energy infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate process engineering activities with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders.
- Participate in and facilitate HAZID, HAZOP, 3D model reviews, design reviews, and technical workshops.
- Serve as a technical representative during meetings with contractors, suppliers, and project teams.
- Perform technical assessments, engineering reviews, inspections, and witness testing activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, project specifications, and quality requirements.
- Support root cause investigations and development of corrective actions for system and operational issues.
- Provide engineering guidance throughout design, construction, commissioning, and startup phases.
- Conduct technical evaluations for facility expansions, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
- Travel periodically to project sites, contractor offices, supplier facilities, and industry events as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in process engineering, process safety, LNG, petrochemical, refining, or energy infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles and multidisciplinary project execution.
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings, PFDs, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of process safety principles, risk assessments, and hazard analysis methodologies.
- Experience with root cause analysis and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience participating in or leading HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, LOPA, and other process safety reviews.
- Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards including:
- ASME B31.3
- NFPA 59A
- API Standards
- ASTM Standards
- ISO Standards
- EN 1473
- Experience managing engineering and design deliverables within EPC project environments.
- Proficiency with engineering software and design review tools such as:
- Smart Review
- Navisworks
- Ansys
- Understanding of Acoustic Induced Vibration (AIV) and Flow Induced Vibration (FIV) assessment methodologies.
- Experience developing engineering standards, technical specifications, and best practices.
- Participation in industry organizations such as API, ASME, PIP, or similar technical committees.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
