Job description

We are seeking a Principal Process Architect to spearhead end-to-end process design and implementation across Core Finance, encompassing plan-to-perform and underlying financial operations. Operating as a senior individual contributor, you will collaborate with key technology and finance leaders to turn strategic goals into actionable outcomes—simplifying complex workflows, re-architecting processes, driving full-scale automation, and enabling real-time analytics. In this role, you will hold complete accountability for key transformation workstreams, managing every phase from target-state workflow design and data alignment to requirements definition, implementation, and organizational adoption.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a strong process and transformation leader with experience spanning finance processes, business systems, and cross-functional program delivery. They understand core finance and accounting deeply enough to engage credibly with finance stakeholders, while also bringing the structured thinking and technical fluency needed to guide solution design and systems-enabled change. They are comfortable leading a team, navigating ambiguity, and influencing across a complex stakeholder environment. They can balance strategic roadmap thinking with practical execution, and they bring a modernization mindset that includes process simplification, connected processes, and thoughtful application of AI and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Process Architecture: Define and refine a transformation roadmap aligned with core finance priorities to ensure a cohesive enterprise-wide operational strategy.
  • Program Execution: Drive cross‑functional execution of a program from requirements through delivery, ensuring it is delivered on time, to a high standard of quality, within budget, and in accordance with stated business and technical objectives.
  • Operational Excellence & Innovation: Lead initiatives to streamline ambiguous & inefficient processes within the core finance function. Focus on accelerating and optimizing operations by replacing manual tasks with automated capabilities.
  • Solution Design & Development: Collaborate with IT and finance business stakeholders to design scalable financial solutions. Ensure that new capabilities are innovative, repeatable, and aligned with organizational growth.
  • Data Reconciliation & Automation: Structure and reconcile high-volume transaction data across disparate systems, identify root causes of discrepancies, and architect automated, controlled workflows for detection and resolution on packaged ERP/SaaS and custom finance applications.
  • Stakeholder Influence & Decision Support: Act as a trusted advisor to finance leadership, using data and analysis to inform prioritization and decision-making; influence senior stakeholders without direct authority to harmonize on strategy and sequencing.
  • Analytical Decision Support: Utilize advanced data analysis to guide executive decision‑making. Execute strategies that integrate stakeholder requirements across the end‑to‑end financial journey.
  • AI & Automation Enablement: Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and modern finance technologies to streamline processes, improve insights, and accelerate finance transformation outcomes.
  • Adoption & Change Leadership mindset: Spearhead the change management efforts by working with the change team for transformation initiatives, including developing and executing targeted communication plans, stakeholder engagement strategies, and detailed training programs to ensure successful adoption and full integration of new processes and systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance/accounting roles with deep domain expertise in financial systems, processes, and large‑scale transformation projects.
  • Subject matter expertise in the core financials, including Record‑to‑Report, Fixed Assets, Source‑to‑Pay, and direct & Indirect tax.
  • Ability to connect the core financials end‑to‑end process design with the data model, AI/automation, and technology to cross‑process dependencies (planning, forecasting, and budgeting)
  • Proven track record of orchestrating large‑scale, multi‑year finance transformation programs, effectively managing dependencies between technical implementations (ERP & SaaS) and business process re‑engineering efforts.
  • Expert understanding of core accounting principles (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS) and their application in a systems environment.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into a scalable system architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders across the organization. You must be able to influence cross‑functional senior leaders to use data and insights to inform business strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead large‑scale change initiatives, operate without boundaries, and influence actions that align teams on business strategy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree (MBA) or a professional certification (CPA, PMP).
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP and EPM Cloud modules
