Job summary

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions in Houston is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer – Pressure Vessels to lead design, specification and application of pressure vessel equipment for onshore and offshore projects, including towers, reactors, drums and heat exchangers.

The role requires 7 years in pressure vessel design, strong ASME/API knowledge, PVElite proficiency, and the ability to guide vendors, coordinate with piping/process disciplines, and mentor junior engineers toward safe,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7 years of progressive experience in pressure vessel design.
• Working knowledge of ASME and API codes and standards.
• PVElite software experience.
• Must be licensed Professional Engineer or willing to obtain.
• Collaborates with piping, process and civil disciplines.
• Experience in LNG, ammonia, ethylene, refining/oil & gas projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, specification and application of pressure vessels (ASME) equipment.
• Technical requisition of pressure vessel equipment.
• Perform technical bid evaluations.
• Vendor drawing review and coordination with engineering teams.
• Field commissioning and startup support when required.
• Manage technical scope for onshore and offshore pressure vessel equipment.
• Support project engineers addressing technical concerns with clients.
