Job summary

Based in Oakland with a hybrid schedule, you will drive standardization, model development, and cross-functional collaboration to improve SAIDI/SAIFI metrics and accelerate grid modernization across the distribution system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, ML, CS, Physics, Econometrics or Economics, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or related field.
• 8 years of related experience; or Master’s with 7 years; or Doctorate with 5 years.
• Desirable: Master’s in Power System Engineering; 10 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages and builds consensus for major cross-functional projects with leadership.
• Coaches, mentors, and trains others.
• Provides input on department planning, operations, and strategy.
• Influences policy and program strategy across utilities and regulators.
• Identifies future challenges and innovates on models and analytical assumptions.
• Develops and evaluates advanced quantitative tools and models; troubleshoots complex issues.
• Develops industry-wide best practices with utilities and industry groups.
• Leads DSSE and predictive analytics deployment for real-time visibility of grid conditions.
• Designs state-aware grid intelligence platforms using SCADA, AMI, DER, outage, weather, and asset data.
• Drives data-driven decision-making to improve reliability and accelerate grid modernization.
