Job summary

Graphcore seeks a Principal Engineer, Power Engineering to define architecture from grid to chip, collaborating with hardware, firmware, and datacenter teams. The role supports a hybrid model with onsite requirements and is based in Austin or San Jose, with a Milpitas location noted for onsite expectations.

The person will lead power delivery architecture, establish roadmaps, and drive innovations for efficiency and reliability across datacenter systems and AI hardware.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with power specialization.
• Experience in power system delivery architecture and development.
• Rack-level hardware design experience including servers and power distribution.
• Proficiency in power hardware and firmware development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in power delivery architecture from grid to chip.
• Establish a power roadmap and integrate vendor innovations into the system.
• Design rack-level power shelves with resilient hardware/firmware.
• Set datacenter power policies and monitor power quality fault telemetry.
• Ensure IT power compatibility with grid requirements and good grid citizenship.
• Guide manufacturers and engineering teams on testing and validation.
• Develop and test hardware prototypes for new power concepts.
• Resolve advanced power hardware/firmware issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
