Job summary

Salt seeks a Principal Product Manager to own a technically sophisticated hardware + software cybersecurity product line end-to-end—from strategy and roadmap through development, launch, adoption and commercial growth.

This is a highly autonomous role for someone who has worked in a startup, scale-up or lean product environment and is comfortable owning a product across product, engineering, customers, operations and commercial teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Product Management experience with ownership of a technically sophisticated product from strategy through delivery.
• Mandatory experience in a startup, scale-up or lean product environment with autonomy.
• Direct experience with hardware+software products (appliances, devices, edge systems, etc.).
• Experience with hardware cost, quality, reliability and regulatory considerations.
• Strong technical fluency across hardware architecture, Windows/Linux, networking, APIs, security and enterprise management.
• Demonstrated AI-native working style with practical use of AI/agentic tools in product development.
• Customer and commercial orientation with measurable product/business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own product vision, strategy, roadmap, requirements, positioning and full lifecycle.
• Oversee hardware platform, architecture, components, BOM, cost, reliability and manufacturing readiness.
• Lead software capabilities, integrations, APIs, deployment and enterprise management.
• Ensure regulatory, security and compliance requirements throughout the lifecycle.
• Drive pricing, licensing and commercial performance including revenue and adoption.
• Focus on customer experience, product reliability and continuous improvement.
• Own go-to-market, competitive positioning and sales/channel enablement.
• Manage product data, telemetry and centralized device/fleet management.
• Collaborate with hardware/software engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, QA, sales and customers.
• Apply AI-native approaches for research, prototyping and engineering collaboration.
